BIKE YOGA

BIKE YOGA Once I swing onto my bike the first thing I do is take a deep breath. I center myself by leaning over the handlebars, breathe deeply again, analyze the path ahead, the wind, the temperature, and exhale. I close my eyes and inhale. Then I sit, one leg straight, the ball of my…

The Best Game That Could Never Be

I see so many posts and articles and talk shows where people give their opinions on who was the Greatest Basketball Player of All Time. Lately it has been focused on Jordan vs LeBron, as if they are so far above everyone else that no other player should be in the conversation. Go back a…

Best Cubs Brawl of All Time

Does anyone remember the greatest brawl in Cubs history, starring The Hawk, Andre Dawson?   The year was 1987, and the Cubs were playing the Padres in Wrigley Field. My buddy and I went to a Friday afternoon game, called a “Business Man’s Special” because it started at 2 instead of 12 and made a vow to drink a beer for every run the Cubs scored. The Cubbies won the game 9 – 0.

My First Trip To Wrigley

I had a choice to make. I could either go to the Canton Illinois Park District city championships and represent Isaac Swann School in checkers and knock hockey, or I could to Chicago to see the Cubs play in Wrigley Field for the very first time in my life. My dad gave me this decision to make as I lay in bed at Graham Hospital, where I had been rushed three days earlier with a high fever, racking cough, and violent body tremors.
